Our first design: Genesis/Maternity-Ward

The vision of this gown came about twenty four years ago when I gave birth to my first son. I wanted to nurse my baby and as a new mom, it was quite difficult. The hospital gown I was wearing was not helping either. I had to either remove it and wear it backward so I could have open access to nurse my baby properly or stick the baby under my gown which was extremely frustrating.

Right there, I started thinking of a design that could help mothers who wish to nurse their babies without all these hurdles. I had a brilliant idea : Redesigning patients gowns for maternity ward. I wanted a gown that would have a front opening, giving proper coverage while having breast flaps with velcros for quick access. I envisioned a gown made with soft fabric and vibrant colors.  A touch of colors that will elevate the mood while making a new mom feel feminine and empowered.

Our maternity-ward design is made with 100% breathable and lightweight cotton fabric. It comes with velcroed sleeves to facilitate IV lines, and removal during toileting. The gown opens in the front with velcro for quick removal. Built with an empire waist with breast flaps to facilitate breastfeeding. The gown is very easy to wear with two slits on the side for ample room when walking.  The gown length reaches a few inches below the knees and the sleeves reach a few inches above the elbow.

Our maternity-ward gown is made to fit every body type. We believe that every woman deserves to feel comfortable in their skin after giving birth. Our gown comes in different sizes and different heights to make this possible. We believe our gowns were created for your overall comfort one stitch at a time. No more frustrations during nursing, no more sacrificing modesty so that our babies can have easy access, no more gown malfunctions exposing our backsides while taking a walk in the hospital hallways.

The gown is fabricated with love for not only new moms in mind but also for post-surgical mastectomy patients. The flaps will allow easy access for caretakers to do their wound care on the suture site and it will also give the patient a sense of dignity and privacy since the chest will not be exposed. Furthermore, this will prevent any bacterial infections because the gown can easily be removed when soiled or stained during wound care or dressing changes.

The gown was made with modesty and our patient's privacy in mind. As compared to the traditional hospital patient's gowns, our gowns give full coverage to the back creating a sense of comfort and dignity. Nobody wants to feel that some parts of their bodies are exposed when walking in the room or in the hallways. Nobody wants to wear an ill-fitting gown just because they are sick and have no choice but to wear it anyways.

Our gown was created with the ultimate vision to make a woman stay in the hospital memorable whether they came to give birth or to have breast surgery. The gentle but vibrant colors of the gown brighten one’s mood, giving a sense of confidence while setting the mind for healing.
